G&G UP – First Tutors training lab in Latvia

On Tuesday, February 19th the first laboratory for tutors was held in Galgauska Primary school located in a small town Galgauska in North-Eastern part of Latvia. The participants were 8 teachers from nearby schools – Staku Primary school, Gulbene Secondary school , Gulbisa Secondary school, Druviena library and hosting school who were invited by G&G tutor Aiga Vagule who has been trained by VISC and ZAWiW in Task force training seminar in November 2012.
In intense one-day training teachers were introduced to project „G&G Update” idea, sensitized on intergenerational diversity, training materials and resources on project website. In order to gain full confidence as G&G tutors, the participants were asked to act out some role plays as „grandchildren and grandparents” what enabled them to identify some potential risks and brainstorm for quick and effective teaching solutions.
